11 New Model Debuts to Watch For in the Second Half of 2025

Half the year is gone, but there’s still a lot to come in the automotive industry. Of course, no unveiling is as eagerly awaited as that of the all-new 2026 Toyota RAV4, which took place in May. Nevertheless, we thought we’d take a look at some of the major vehicle debuts to watch for, whether confirmed or simply anticipated.

Without further ado, here’s what automakers have in store for us in the second half of 2025…

Acura RSX

In addition to the Integra Hybrid, Acura is set to unveil the all-new RSX. But wait, it won’t be a small, affordable and gas-powered coupe this time. Instead, look for a sporty crossover previewed by the Acura Performance EV Concept. The future Acura RSX will be the first model engineered on the new Honda-developed EV platform and also the first product to come out of the new Honda EV Hub in Ohio, which is scheduled to begin production later in 2025. Sales are expected to start in the first half of next year.

BMW iX3

BMW this year will launch its new generation of EVs, known as Neue Klasse, starting with the production of an SUV based on the Vision Neue Klasse X concept and called iX3. It will feature the sixth generation of the eDrive propulsion system along with a whole new driving environment. The key component is the so-called “Heart of Joy” control unit for the drivetrain, brakes, charging, recuperation system and steering. The 2026 BMW iX3 will make its global debut at IAA 2025 in Munich, Germany this September. Sales in Canada are projected to begin in the first half of 2026.

Ferrari

Ferrari is a on roll. Keeping the momentum going will be six new models set for a debut in 2025. One of the most important by far will be the Italian automaker’s first-ever electric vehicle. A reveal is set for October 9 during the Capital Markets Day. Look for some sort of crossover instead of a conventional sports car. Production will take place in a second plant in Maranello.

Honda Prelude

As we wrote in a previous blog post, the Honda Prelude will return to the Canadian market in late 2025. Unlike the previous five generations—the first dating back to 1978 and the last one discontinued in 2001—the sixth-gen Prelude will be sold exclusively as a hybrid when it arrives as a 2026 model. We’ve seen the prototype, so now we’re waiting for the production model, which is expected to be extremely similar. Time will tell if the new Prelude enjoys greater success than the late Civic Coupe.

Jeep Cherokee and Recon

Have you heard? The Cherokee compact SUV is about to return from the dead. It will be fully revealed soon and go on sale late this year as a 2026 model, if all goes according to plan. The next-generation Cherokee will be “reimagined from the ground up” and sport a much more sophisticated and boxier-looking design. It will be larger, too, and available with a “new, efficient and powerful hybrid propulsion option,” Jeep said.

Meanwhile, the all-new Recon will become Jeep’s second electric SUV in North America following the larger Wagoneer S. It will use Stellantis’ STLA Large platform, which also underpins the Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona. The Recon will be largely inspired from the Wrangler, complete with removable doors and roof, plus similar off-road skills. That sounds promising, indeed.

Mazda CX-5

The third-generation CX-5, which spy photographers have caught on the road wearing camouflage, appears to be getting awfully close to its official debut, expected later in 2025. In fact, a non-official picture recently leaked online. Unsurprisingly, the evolution of the Kodo design language is a conservative one. Will the new CX-5 arrive as a 2026 or 2027 model? That’s yet to be confirmed. What we do know for sure is that the company is working on an all-new gasoline engine called SKYACTIV-Z. A hybrid variant will follow.

Nissan Rogue PHEV and Sentra

Struggling Japanese automaker Nissan plans to launch over 10 new vehicles in Canada and the U.S. by the end of fiscal year 2027 as it works to accelerate its turnaround. There will be hybrids, plug-in hybrids, next-generation EVs and advanced ICE-powered models. We’ve already shown you the completely redesigned, third-generation LEAF, but the second half of 2025 will also mark the debut of a plug-in hybrid variant of the Rogue compact SUV (a spinoff of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV) as well as a new generation of the Sentra compact sedan. Both are crucial for Nissan’s success.

Ram

Back in April, Ram promised to make 25 product announcements within the next 18 months. Obviously, not all 25 will be new vehicles and standalone models. There will be new trims and special editions, among others. It all started with the return of the HEMI V8 in the Ram 1500 for 2026. You can count on a new Ram 1500 TRX, too, or at least something that will slot above the six-cylinder Ram 1500 RHO. Also expected is a new midsize pickup—heir to the discontinued Ram Dakota—to be built in Illinois. We just don’t know when it will debut yet. Hopefully before the end of this year.

Range Rover Electric

Following multiple delays, the upcoming Range Rover Electric should debut later in 2025. The company has claimed it will be its most refined vehicle ever created. And the quietest, too, obviously. Look for the overall design to be pretty similar to that of the latest gas-powered Range Rover. Furthermore, engineers aim to deliver the same level of performance and off-road capability as any other Range Rover. In fact, we’re told the Range Rover Electric will eclipse other electric luxury SUVs when it comes to towing heavy loads and clearing obstacles.
