A very positive outcome for the 2026 edition of the Montreal Auto Show
Best Attendance in Three Years
Montreal, January 25, 2026 — Presented by iA Auto and Home Insurance, the Montreal Auto Show concluded its 81st edition at the Palais des congrès de Montréal with a very positive outcome, reaffirming its status as a must-attend automotive event.
From January 16 to 25, 2026, more than 170,000 visitors walked through the Show’s doors — the highest attendance of the past three years — reflecting renewed public enthusiasm for the event.
Presented in a refreshed format, the Show brought together more than 30 automotive brands, highlighted by the highly anticipated return of Audi and BMW.
A Rich, Diverse Offering Focused on the Future
The 2026 edition featured 400 vehicles, including 43% electrified models — electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles — reflecting the rapid evolution of the market and changing consumer expectations.
Visitors also enjoyed:
-
electric vehicle test drives,
-
a selection of exotic vehicles, including models from Lamborghini, McLaren, FELINO, and the Quadriam Collection,
-
several immersive experiences, including a powerful tribute to Gilles Villeneuve.
A lineup that helped deliver a dynamic, engaging, and accessible visit for both automotive enthusiasts and families.
Strong Growth in Test Drives
Offered in collaboration with CAA-Québec and PowerQ, electric vehicle test drives saw significant growth:
-
2,206 test drives, an increase of 372 compared to 2025
-
4,663 participants, up 1,086 from 2025
A tangible opportunity for visitors to get behind the wheel and experience electric driving in real-world conditions.
“I had the opportunity to meet visitors throughout the Show, talk with them, answer their questions, and feel their curiosity,” said Bertrand Godin, Show spokesperson.
“Interest was clearly there — among enthusiasts, families, and visitors considering a purchase. The Performance Zone, in particular, drew strong attention, demonstrating how vibrant and unifying automotive passion remains.”
Themed Zones That Captivated the Public
The introduction of three immersive themed zones marked this edition and was met with strong public response:
-
the St-Hubert Family Zone, featuring electric mini-cars for children,
-
the Performance Zone, showcasing modified vehicles,
-
the Outdoor Overlanding Zone, dedicated to adventure and exploration.
“Once again, the Montreal Auto Show demonstrates its importance as a meeting point between the industry and the public,” said Denis Dessureault, Executive Vice-President of the Show.
“This reimagined edition, focused on experience, diversity, and accessibility, fully reflects our philosophy: we only exist when we move forward.”
