Spring is in full swing and we should normally rejoice, but the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cast dark clouds over everything. What will summer be like? Nobody knows for sure.
Whether you’re shopping for a new vehicle or not, we thought it would be fun to compile a list of exciting new models that will soon hit the road or are already in showrooms waiting to blow your mind in the warmer months to come.
2021 Ford Bronco
Resurrected last summer, the legendary Bronco will thrill a new generation of drivers when the first deliveries finally begin in June. Have you ordered yours a long time ago?
The doors and roof panels can be removed for a unique open-air experience, up to seven drive modes are available to tackle any terrain with confidence, and a pair of turbocharged engines will supply the power you need. Also, don’t miss the wide selection of accessories.
2021 BMW M3/M4
With striking looks—highlighted by the gigantic double-kidney grille up front—the next-generation M3 sedan and M4 coupe will turn plenty of heads, that’s for sure. They also promise exhilarating performance.
The turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine now cranks out 473 horsepower—or 503 horsepower in the Competition models, which is good enough to reach 100 km/h in as little as 3.9 seconds. The RWD-only M3 and M4 are arriving as we speak, while the AWD-equipped xDrive models are slated for this summer.
2021 Volkswagen ID.4
No, Volkswagen won’t change its name to “Voltswagen” (that was a poorly executed April Fool’s prank), but its brand new electric crossover needs to be taken quite seriously. Range is set at just over 400 kilometres, and 0-100 km/h sprints are achieved in just 5.8 seconds in AWD configuration (302 horsepower).
The ID.4 is also said to have the soul of a Golf GTI, which is pretty exciting if you love dynamic handling. Sales will begin this summer.
2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo
Mazda launched the Turbo variant of its CX-30 in the middle of winter—not ideal conditions to make the most of its 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. Now, the weather is nice again, and it’s time to have a blast!
Blessed with a high-performing new engine, the small Japanese crossover stands in a class of its own and even challenges luxury rivals such as the BMW X1 and Audi Q3. For driving enthusiasts, it’s one alternative you should not miss.
2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness
Fancy the most rugged and most capable Outback ever, with superior off-road potential and extra content to push the limits and explore remote locations? That’s exactly what the new Wilderness model is—and it’s coming to showrooms imminently.
A wider body and tracks, off-road tires, extra cladding, skid plates, increased ground clearance, better approach and departure angles; how sweet is this? And good news if you like to get your Outback dirty: the Wilderness model combines a more durable makeup that is easy to clean with all-weather soft-touch upholstery and exclusive all-weather rubber floor liners.
